Pockets of Silence and Weightlessness

I found these figures yesterday in the park outside of the Japan Society.  The park is a long rectangle and creating 2 lines down the park were silver figures on one side and the identical figure in a rusted metal on the other side of the park.

Whenever I see figures like this, I feel like they have a soundless and still energy that welcomes me.  It's a respite of silence and weightlessness from a noisy city and busy mind.

Each of the figures was of the same person.  They have no specific details to the body although they did have faces.  I would have liked it better if their faces were blank.  That would have given me even more space to enter the world of these figures.

One of the book I was reading about Native American dolls said that dolls are "life in miniature".  I think that like these figures, they are life in contemplation.
