Just passing by

The day before I left Cappadocia, I had a chance to take a car ride with Ailie and Mehmet down to the Ihlara Valley.  The drive took a little over an hour and brought us through some very beautiful countryside.  I had done this drive before although I was the one driving, so I didn't have the opportunity to really enjoy the surroundings.  This time though, I purposefully sat in the back seat, so I could quietly stare out the window and let my mind wander. I really loved the houses along the way- the little ones all alone in the huge expanse as well as some of the newer ones and their designs, so I started to take pictures.  Mehmet noticed I was taking photos and offered to stop the car so I could take the pictures properly, but I declined.  It was really fun being in motion and trying to take the photos- sometimes getting them, sometimes missing them and always being surprised by how they came out.  I was simply enjoying the pleasure of just passing by and receiving what that brought me.

  2. Thank you Wendy! Yes it was a beautiful drive. I love how those wide- open spaces give the mind breathing space. I guess we don't get much of that living here in NYC
